About Us
The Third Order, Society of St Francis (African Province) currently operates in six countries. Within any region there may be various local chapters -- small groups who meet together in a particular area. Currently there are some 19 chapters comprising about 180 people.
Coordinating all activities within the African Province is a committee made up of the Minister Provincial, assisted by the Formation Guardian, Secretary, Treasurer, and Regional Guardians. This committee also links up with other Third Orders world-wide.
Each chapter is expected to meet at least three times a year for worship and fellowship. (We also discuss matters of interest and concern on a prepared agenda). Third Order Franciscans also join together for a Retreat once a year.
Local and international conferences are held from time to time.
A newsletter is sent out quarterly.
